Social Media Strategist & Copywriter

We're looking for someone with strong writing, visual storytelling, and editing skills to broaden the Organization’s social reach by creating, scheduling, and posting daily content across our social media channels including, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn directly in app or on scheduling platforms, taking current social trends into account. The Social Media Strategist will assist in the management of the social media calendar based upon our current focus and goals, and create content and targeted ads under the direction of the General Manager. Must be have performance metrics analytics skills and be able to use analytics platforms and investigate the competitive market for current insights and trends. SEO knowledge is a huge plus. A passion for nonprofit work and/or running are also a plus. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Proofreading and formatting text to meet industry standards and meet accessibility best practices according to the ADA.

  • Writing copy for Club publications including, but not limited to email ads, weekly news, organization website, pamphlets, brochures, and the monthly digital magazine.

  • Work closely with the General Manager to brainstorm ideas for content that aligns with Club values and ensure that all written Organization copy has a cohesive tone and voice.

  • You must have the ability to work independently, have a strong sense of organization, can work with many moving parts, and be excellent at time management since you will be working with strict deadlines. 

  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in social media, public relations/communications, digital marketing, community management, or social customer service. You should be familiar with social management software such as Spredfast, Dash Hudson, Brandwatch, Falcon, Planoly, Later, Sprinklr, SproutSocial, etc. a welcoming attitude toward feedback and constructive criticism, and the skills to revise content based upon that feedback. You will also have collaborative skills, enthusiasm, and positive energy to contribute to a team. This is a small office environment, and you may be relied upon to greet visitors and answer phones as needed, particularly during times in which there are large bursts of traffic surrounding an event.
