The race has been postponed to Saturday, November 25th. Here is the official statement from Legislator Martinez' office:
As a result of the recent natural disasters that have affected local families in the Ninth District of Suffolk County and in observation of the upcoming Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, Legislator Martinez has decided to postpone the 4th Annual Sickle Cell Run/Family Walk to November 25th.
We hope that you and your families will still join us at Heckscher State Park on November 25th for a Thanksgiving Run/Walk as we raise awareness on Sickle Cell Anemia. Our 4th Annual event is being hosted in honor of Bernest Brown, a Brentwood graduate who passed away of the disease in 2014.
If you would like to join us in November, no action is required. However, if you would like a refund we ask that you please email your request. In the eventyou cannot join us, you may also choose to forego a refund and allow your registration to be used as a donation to Good Samaritan Hospital for Sickle Cell Research.
We hope to see you November 25th at 9am.
